JUDGING
Myself, ~xpunkashx and ~Tenshi1 shall be your lovely and sexy judges. Your entry will be judged on a points-based system with a certain number of possible points awarded per category (originality, relevance to the theme, overall image, blah diddy bler). This way all different skill levels are judged as fairly as possible. Please don't be discouraged to enter based on your skill. Results will be posted in a timely manner (and with a grand flourish).

RULES:
Choose a character from the list provided. Choose a theme you want to portray them in. Draw draw draw! X)
Detailed descriptions on general personality are included so please don't worry about drawing too out-of-character. I want this to be fun!
All I mind is that they are on-model (i.e. hair color, eye color, etc is correct) and that the chara(s) you choose suit their theme.
All the charas can go to either theme~!
Entrants are limited to submitting three entries. To submit your complete entry and sketch request please title the Note "Contest Entry + Sketch Request". I may accidentally delete it if it's not correctly labeled ( I kinda fly through my Notes ^_^; ). Sorry, you are limited to 2 requests, even if you submit 3 entries.
I reserve the right to refuse your request if I feel your entry is incomplete or shoddy (i.e. bad quality when compared to your gallery).



THEME
Since this is the second year I've run a contest, you have a choice between two themes!

Choice #1: Blood/Destruction/Solitude
This is what I call the shounen choice.
Anger, murder, despair, hatred, loss...all the things that can lead to a bitter end in life. Many people meet a horrific end due to bad choices or just plain ill fate. Come across one of these folks in a dark alley, covered with blood? Fall under their seductive song of solicited sex? Find a used needle in one of their bags? Everyone is flawed and none more so than humans with the souls of animals. Some can control it. Some can't. Not many of them can cope healthily.

Choice #2: Love/Joy/Heartbreak
The shoujo choice~<3
Everybody needs somebody...*brick'd* Love, companionship, even lust. Everyone longs for the touch of another whether it's the forbidden taboo of homosexuality, the crushing rapture between man and woman, or the pureness of friend and friend. So, love-love! Couples, threesomes, er, four...somes...? Sex, lies, videotape or good, pure romance.



CHARACTERS
Every one of those listed was born with the soul of a specific animal. The type of animal, or "totem", they possess defines the types of abilities they have. These abilities define their worth to the company (the TaijiDoushi) they are employed by.

Abilities: speed, immortality (kill him and he comes right back, like a zombie!), strength, pyrokinesis, electrokinesis
Personality: comes off as a foppish idiot, but is very sharp, calculating but emotional, enthusiastic, doesn't seem to take anything seriously despite his lethal potential, restless, good-natured, arrogant, rumored to be gay because of his girlish hygiene, hopelessly in love with Kaida/K.D., loves Thane too
Occupation: convinces other totems to join the TaijiDoushi, kills those who don't
Other: Eats sugary foods constantly, otherwise he starts to crave, er, feces.... Well, he is the scarab...>__> Being an animal with no brain makes him woefully simple-minded, as well D'X

Abilities: can create and harden shadows to the consistency of tar/molasses, nocturnal immortality, sharp hearing and sense of smell
Personality: completely unfriendly, moody, feral, intelligent, very childish, cold, prone to snap violently at the weak, self-destructive, loyally devoted to Sef (rumored to be "gay for him"), uses powers to cruelly kill assigned targets and anyone he feels is a threat
Occupation: bodyguard to William, kills whoever he's told to
Other: Lived with Sef since he was 16, lies and sacrifices his personal freedom to cover Sef's illicit affair with K.D., comes in heat once a year (when he wants to do everything with ladybits)

Other: Was K.D.'s lover in a previous life, died in battle and was reborn in the company, attracted to K.D. without really knowing why, hates her and loves her, considers her his property and has an unhealthy desire to cause her pain

Abilities: Granting any wish except those that are life altering, using song to alter individual's emotions, manipulation of plant life, healing, amplifying the psychic abilities of others
Personality: Bright, cheerful, friendly, rather flighty and even more so without a man to keep her on the straight and narrow, falls in love easily
Occupation: homemaker and mother
Other: After her husband is sent away, Thane is assigned to "take care of her", she falls in love with him almost immediately (to his chagrin) and forgets about her family

Personality: Intelligent, kind, quiet, meditative, appears cold and unfriendly until you get to know him, loathes being born into the TaijiDoushi and having to work for them, happiest when he can spend what little free time he has with his lover, Dylan, loyalties lie with William and not the company itself
Occupation: does upper-management paperwork,genetic research, Cain's official (and unwilling) boytoy
Other: Dixie's twin, mainly at diurnal, comes into heat twice a year

Personality: Loud and bold woman, confident, loves only two things in the entire world: William and her job, intelligent, extremely loyal to the company and William, enjoys going out and having a good time, work always comes before play, holds contempt for her brother and his homosexuality
Occupation: convinces other totems to join the TaijiDoushi, kills those who don't
Other: Tokala's parasitic twin, resides inside his body and comes out mainly at night, uses fox magic to alter her feminine features to make them look more appealing, comes into heat twice a year, most men would rather not sleep with her b/c it's basically her brother's body

Abilities: can produce water bubbles (Sailor Mercury style lol), impeccable gay-dar

Other: If it weren't for Tokala's influence, Dylan would've been killed off by the company. He's later killed off anyway as punishment for Tokala hiding facts about K.D.'s affair with Sef

Personality: sensible, realistic but understanding, a little cold-hearted b/c of her upbringing but not cruel, likes to keep busy, the most non-dysfunctional personality in the whole book
Occupation: convinces other totems to join the TaijiDoushi, kills those who don't
Other: has a thing for rugged men, has dated William and Sef (rugged? rofl) before but prefers Thane, she finds his filthy habits and awkward nature sexy
